"Theri" is a Tamil-language action thriller film directed by Atlee and released in 2016. The film stars Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Amy Jackson in lead roles, with Mahendran, Prabhu, and Raadhika Sarathkumar appearing in supporting roles.

The story revolves around a doting father named Joseph Kuruvilla, played by Vijay, who lives a quiet life as a baker. However, his past catches up with him when his daughter gets involved in a traumatic incident. Joseph's true identity as a former police officer is revealed, and he takes it upon himself to seek revenge and protect his daughter. The film showcases his journey as he takes on corrupt politicians and criminals to bring them to justice.

"Theri" received positive reviews for its action sequences, Vijay's performance, and the emotional core of the story. It was a commercial success, becoming one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of 2016.
